bier garten

Bier garten – Florida style.  I visited  the empty garden in February of this year.

Though alone in the garden I could almost  hear the Oom-pah band playing and glasses clanking with hearty shouts of prost!

amelia louise

I’ve spent some time recently in various local grave yards.

Quiet time alone with my camera to reflect and consider the beauty of the architecture. Reflect on our past history and to remember lost souls.

just another bee photo or is it?

Macro photography is my favorite.  In this photo I enjoy seeing all the details of the wings, the tiny particles of pollen and the furry hairy leg stuff – not the technical name.

What I really like though is the reflection.  The sky with clouds and the outline of the trees.

This week, I proudly launched the first of a line of photo note cards.  Take a peek and let me know what you think.

last call

The horrible heat wave and drought we have been experiencing has been hard on our humming-bird population.  I’ve needed to fill our feeders several times a day to keep up with the demand.  I thought I would challenge myself to snap a shot as they came for a last call before resting for the night.

Oddly enough, the hummers didn’t seem to mind the flash from the camera.

I’m not particularly good with night photography and especially moving objects in the dark.  However, for my first effort, I’ll take it.

tail feathers

I’m not sure that a summer vacation is attainable this year.  I’m re-living my last vacation vicariously through my photos.

sunlight shinning through Osprey tail feathers

I stood on the golf course, camera in hand ready to snap a photo of an alligator that I was stalking.  I heard woosh, woosh, woosh looked up and saw this Osprey circling above my head.  Photo taken February 2012, Cape Coral, Florida.
